Help Your Mates

While peer pressure can be a prime instigator of unsafe binge drinking and drug experimentation, support from friends is never more important than when someone is affected by alcohol.

When a friend does drink too much, it is important to look after them and make sure they are OK.

If a friend is sick and vomiting or unconscious because they have drunk too much, you should call an ambulance. Don’t leave them on their own and make sure you check their condition and reassure them if needed. Rehydrating with water will help.

If your friend is female, make sure they are not vulnerable to predatory behaviour.
