Carer’s Support

If you are feeling frustrated, angry or despair over a loved one’s substance use issues or mental health concerns, you don’t have to feel alone.

Support programs are available to young people whose parents, siblings or friends are facing AOD issues.

The WRAD Carer Group meets every third Monday at the Archie Graham Centre in Timor Street. Meetings are from 6pm until about 8pm.

The group’s main aim is to provide a safe, accessible environment where members can share information, experiences and ideas. This is a mutually supportive group strengthened by an acceptance of eachothers’ circumstances and a common goal to care for ourselves, eachother and the significant people in our lives who have substance abuse issues.

WRAD staff attend each meeting and can arrange for guest speakers on topics identified by the group.

WRAD understands that attending the group for the first time may be daunting for some. If you feel you would like to speak with us before attending or if you would like more information please call the ISI Coordinator at WRAD on 03 5564 5779.
